Yummy Summertime

With just a couple of weeks left of class I am having a difficult time focusing, instead I am thinking about the amazing summer just ahead which is sure to be filled with, friends, art, travel, research, and a long awaited return to India!  Summers in Dharamshala are punctuated by lavish multiple day picnics which are so wonderful and summery.  Last time I went on a picnic in India we made hundreds of  momos in a single afternoon they were completely delicious.  What do you pack in your basket?

oh how beautiful

Tenzin Dakpa is one of the founding partners of Peak Art Gallery,  we have been fortunate to know him as a compassionate friend, and experience his truly great artistic  talent.  I love seeing his art in homes where it can be enjoyed every day, the pieces look incredibly beautiful and his point of view is masterly conveyed.  Wouldn’t you just love to have one of Tenzin’s beautiful pieces hanging in your home?

New, World Order

World Order , Music by Genki Sudo / SPACE

I am pursing a graduate degree in Global Studies, I spend a major part of each day thinking and talking about big ideas like World Order and Global Governance.    I have learned many things since reentering academia this fall, but the most valuable lesson of all, the world needs creative people who are pushing the limits in every respect.   I thoroughly enjoy this “Japanese pop slow motion dance” group for their sense of humor, and their originality.

It is a delight to watch and listen to these guys as they create a juxtaposition between the heady lifestyle of New Yorkers, and lighthearted fun.  Certainly the humility and the happiness their work generates represents an essential aspect of  the greater World Order.

What do you think?

PAG is one!

Happy Birthday PAG, it is so fun to look back and see the start of this wonderful adventure just one year ago.  Thank you to our friends family and our talented artists for joining us on this journey.

A Special Something

Everyday at the gallery is an adventure watching people enjoy art and fall in love with specific pieces is wonderful, the most buoyant part of my job is the social enterprise aspect of it. I have watched as artists have gained confidence in themselves, their talent as artists, and their ability to support themselves doing what they love. Wouldn’t it be perfect to take such a special reminder of your trip home with you especially knowing the ripple effect of goodness that you have left behind? Just look how wonderful these monks look in this home!
